The details, stated plainly.
No invented certifications, no promises Wisemium cannot keep. Here is where things stand, honestly.
About Wisemium
Wisemium is an intelligent assistant for your everyday household finances. You hand it a bill or connect your accounts, and it organises what you pay for, reviews what could be better, and keeps watch so nothing slips.
Wisemium is in early access. Capabilities appear only when they genuinely work, and the product tells you honestly what it does and does not yet do.
Privacy
Wisemium only holds the data you give it: documents you upload, details you confirm, and, if you connect a bank or an email account, the read-only information needed to find your bills. It is stored privately, encrypted in transit and at rest, and scoped to your account. Nobody else using Wisemium can see it.
Your data is never sold, and it is never used to train anybody’s AI models. It is used to organise and review your household finances, and for nothing else.
Bank connections use regulated, read-only Open Banking. Wisemium can never move money, and never sees your banking login: you authorise it with your bank directly.
For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights below, contact info@wisemium.com.
What Wisemium holds, and why
Account details (your name and email address), so you can sign in and we can contact you about your account. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
Documents you upload and the details read from them: provider, price, contract dates, address, account number. This is the substance of the service: without it Wisemium cannot tell you anything useful about your bills. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
Bank transaction data, only if you connect a bank, and only read-only. Used to identify recurring household bills. Lawful basis: your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by disconnecting in Settings.
Marketing emails, only if you ticked the optional box when you signed up. Lawful basis: your consent. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate.
Basic technical records needed to run the service safely, for example counting requests to stop abuse of our upload tools. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping Wisemium secure and available.
Who else processes your data
Wisemium is built on other companies’ infrastructure, and being honest about that matters more than a short list. These are the only third parties your data reaches, and each acts on Wisemium’s instructions only:
Supabase: the database, sign-in system and encrypted file storage where your account and documents live. Anthropic: reads the bills you upload, in order to extract the provider, price and dates. This means the contents of a document you upload are sent to Anthropic for processing; they are not used to train models. OCR.space: an optional text-recognition service used as a fallback when a document cannot be read directly. Vercel: hosts the application. Resend: sends the emails Wisemium sends you. Enable Banking: the regulated provider behind Open Banking connections, used only if you connect a bank.
If this list changes, this page changes with it.
How long it is kept
Your account data and documents are kept for as long as your account is open, because the service is built on remembering your household from one visit to the next.
If you use Start Afresh in Settings, your bills and services, documents, recommendations and activity are deleted immediately and your account stays open.
If you delete your account in Settings, everything is removed permanently and immediately: your documents, your bills and services, your bank connection, your marketing preferences and the account itself. Wisemium keeps no copy and there is no recovery period. Backups held by our infrastructure providers roll off within 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the data Wisemium holds about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to take it elsewhere, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis we rely on.
Two of these you can exercise yourself, immediately, without asking us: Settings → Your data → Download my data gives you a complete machine-readable copy, and Settings → Your data → Delete my account carries out a full erasure.
For anything else, email info@wisemium.com and we will respond within one month, as the law requires.
If you are unhappy with how Wisemium has handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Terms
Wisemium is provided in early access, as-is, while it is being built. Recommendations are based on the information available at the time and are there to help you decide, they are not financial advice, and Wisemium is not a regulated financial adviser.
Nothing changes on your accounts without your explicit approval: no switch, no cancellation, no payment. You can stop using Wisemium and delete your account at any time from Settings. Full terms will be published before general availability. By using Wisemium you accept these early-access terms.
Commission and partners
Some of what Wisemium shows you leads to another company. Insurance quotes are one example: Wisemium does not provide insurance, does not compare policies itself and is not authorised to advise you on them. When you choose a type of cover, you continue to an FCA authorised comparison service, and it is that firm, not Wisemium, that shows you prices and terms.
Wisemium may be paid a commission when you take out a product this way. That payment does not change what you are shown, the order it appears in, or the price you pay. Wisemium does not rank providers, name a best product or decide what is suitable for you, and no partner pays for placement.
Where a partner supplies its own advertisement, it is labelled as an advertisement and the partner is named on it. You are always told before you leave Wisemium for a partner site.
Wisemium is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not give financial advice. Wise Assistant, the AI inside Wisemium, provides information and helps you understand your finances. It does not provide financial advice.
Accessibility
Wisemium is working towards WCAG 2.2 AA, and is not there yet. Keyboard navigation, labelled controls and support for reduced motion are in place, and body text, secondary text and links meet the AA contrast minimum on every surface they appear on. White text on the bright accent blue used for some buttons does not yet meet it, and visible focus indicators and full screen-reader testing are still being completed. If anything is hard to use with assistive technology, tell us at info@wisemium.com and we will fix it.
