Mobile Contract Ending? What Happens and What You Can Do
When a mobile contract ends nothing switches off: you move onto a rolling plan with the same network, often at a different price. Your network must tell you 10 to 40 days before, with the price afterwards; that is your moment to decide.

The full guide
When a mobile contract ends, nothing switches off: you move onto a rolling monthly plan with the same network, often at a different price. Your network must tell you before the end date, with what you will pay afterwards. That notice is your moment to decide.
The notice
Networks must send an end-of-contract notice between 10 and 40 days before the contract ends. It states the end date, what you will pay after it, and the network’s own plans you could move to.
If the contract included a phone
Check how the monthly price was made up. On a split contract, the phone part is a separate agreement that ends when it is paid off. On some older bundled contracts the price stayed the same after the phone was paid for, so you kept paying for it. Either way, the end date is when you can choose.
Your options
- Stay on the rolling plan, and leave at any time with the notice it states.
- Take a new plan with the same network.
- Move to a SIM only plan, if you are keeping your phone.
- Move to another network and keep your number.
Keeping your number
Text PAC to 65075 from your current phone, give the code to the new network, and the number usually moves within one working day. If you do not want to keep it, text STAC to 75075 instead. What is an eSIM covers moving to a digital SIM at the same time.
How Wisemium helps
Add your plan to Wisemium with its price and end date, and the end date is shown as needing attention before it arrives. When you want to look, Wisemium shows SIM only plans and phones from the providers it works with, not every plan on the market.
Keeps the price, the data and the contract end date on record.
