Full fibre broadband

Full fibre runs fibre optic cable all the way into the building, instead of switching to the copper phone line at the street cabinet. It is faster and more consistent than part fibre, and which full fibre networks reach your home depends on your address.

12 current offers from Zzoomm, Grain, YouFibre, Hey! Broadband, Carnival, BT, Highland Broadband, The One Broadband, as each seller states them, in order of monthly price.

How it differs from part fibre

Part fibre uses copper for the last stretch, so its speed falls with distance from the cabinet. Full fibre has no copper in the way, so the speed you are sold is much closer to the speed you get.

Installation

A first full fibre connection usually needs an engineer to bring the fibre into the home and fit a small box where it enters. The provider says before you order whether a visit is needed.

Common questions

Can I get full fibre at my address?
It depends on which networks reach your street. Each provider’s address check shows whether it can connect you.
Does full fibre need an engineer?
A first connection usually does, to bring the fibre in and fit the box where it enters. The provider tells you before you order.
