Home insurance
Know what your home is covered for, keep the renewal date in view, and get quotes when you’re ready.
Wisemium keeps your buildings and contents cover alongside the rest of your home: the rent or mortgage, the energy, the council tax. The renewal date sits with them, so it never renews unread.
Quotes come from an FCA-authorised comparison service, not from Wisemium. Wisemium does not give insurance advice.

Buildings and contents
Buildings cover the structure and fixtures; contents cover your belongings. A mortgage lender usually requires buildings cover; a tenant usually needs contents only.
Rebuild cost, not market value
The buildings sum insured is what it would cost to rebuild the home, which is often different from what it would sell for.
Renewal price rules
Since January 2022 an insurer cannot quote you more to renew than it would quote a new customer for the same cover through the same channel.
Common questions
- Does Wisemium sell home insurance?
- No. Wisemium keeps your policy and its renewal date on record. Quotes come from Quotezone, an FCA-authorised comparison service, and the policy is with the insurer you choose.
- Do I need buildings cover if I rent?
- Usually not: the landlord insures the building. Contents insurance covers your own belongings.
- Will Wisemium tell me when my renewal is due?
- The renewal date is shown in Wisemium as needing attention before it arrives. Wisemium does not send renewal messages yet.
