iPhone 18 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro Max: UK prices, deals and what to know
One iPhone, three monthly prices. What the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max cost on a 24-month UK contract, the April rises already written in, the incentives that apply, and how the two phones differ.

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are on pre-order in the UK, with deliveries from 18 September 2026. The two phones share almost everything except their size, so choosing between them is really two decisions: which phone suits your hand, and what a 24-month contract at today’s prices commits you to. This guide covers both, and Wisemium’s part is the second: helping you see how the monthly cost changes during the contract before you sign, using the contract figures as checked on 12 September 2026.
What each phone costs today
One iPhone. Three monthly prices.

- £60.99Now
- £62.79From April 2027
- £64.59From April 2028
The lead 24-month plan on each phone: 10GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts, £29 upfront. The contract terms state that the monthly price rises by £1.80 each April. Checked 12 September 2026.
The first price is the one the adverts show. The other two are written into the contract before you sign, as fixed pounds-and-pence rises rather than inflation-linked ones, so you can see the whole shape of the commitment now. Because the rises land in April, how many bills you pay at each price depends on when your contract starts, which is why Wisemium shows the three prices with their dates rather than a single total. As an illustration only: a contract whose first bill falls in September 2026 pays seven bills at the first price, twelve at the second and five at the third, which for the iPhone 18 Pro comes to £1,436.36 including the £29 upfront, and for the Pro Max £1,532.36. Start a month later and one bill moves down a step. Whatever you compare these phones with, compare it with the risen figures, not the first month’s.
Other plans for the same phones are priced differently: a larger data allowance costs a little more each month, and paying £99 or more upfront brings the monthly down. The figures here are the lead plan, which is what most people see first and what the current options at the end of this guide show.
Pro or Pro Max: what changes, and what stays the same
| Fact | iPhone 18 Pro | iPhone 18 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR | 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR |
| Battery | The smaller of the two batteries | Up to 29 hours of use per charge (Apple’s figure) |
| Monthly price | £56.99, then £58.79, then £60.59 | £60.99, then £62.79, then £64.59 |
| Upfront | £29 | |
| Contract | 24 months, 10GB, unlimited minutes and texts | |
| Chip | A20 Pro | |

So the difference is size, stamina and £4 a month. The Pro Max buys a noticeably larger screen and the longer quoted battery for £96 more over the contract and a heavier phone. The Pro is the same chip, the same camera system and the same storage choices in a body that disappears into a pocket. Someone who reads, watches or works on their phone for long stretches tends to value the Max; someone who mostly wants the phone out of the way tends not to. Neither choice is wrong, and the £96 is the honest price of the bigger screen.
The incentives, and who actually gets them
- Up to 2 months free Apple Music, Apple Fitness+ and Apple Arcade, on both phones. The offer’s terms, checked on 12 September 2026, say it runs until further notice and applies to iPhone purchases made in the period, including orders that start from a site like Wisemium. The conditions do real work: it is not available if you have already redeemed an Apple service through the same retailer or its group companies, returning Apple subscribers get one month rather than two, it is one subscription per Apple ID, and it is redeemed through the order confirmation.
- £50 extra trade-in, on the iPhone 18 Pro only. The Pro’s current offer adds £50 to the trade-in value of an eligible device. The Pro Max does not carry it, so it is not claimed here for the Max.
- Pre-order delivery. Orders placed now are stated as delivered by 18 September 2026.
Wisemium shows an incentive only while it is genuinely on offer, and on the day you order, the retailer’s own page is the authority. Read the eligibility before you count an incentive as a saving: if you have used an Apple trial through the same retailer before, the two months may be one, or none.
Contract, or buy outright?
A pay-monthly contract bundles the handset and the airtime into one payment, which spreads the cost, but it also ties you to one network’s plan for two years and to the two April rises. The alternative is to buy the phone outright from Apple or a retailer and put a SIM-only plan in it. Apple’s UK prices are the source for the outright figure, so it is not stated here; the way to compare is to add that price to 24 months of a SIM-only plan you would actually take, and set it against the contract with its rises included. The SIM-only options Wisemium can show are one place to find the second number.
Outright usually wins on total cost when you keep a phone longer than the contract and can afford the lump sum; the contract usually wins on cash flow and on the incentives that come bundled with it. What is never right is comparing a contract’s first-month price with an outright price and calling the difference a saving.
Before you commit
- The cost with the rises. Use the April 2027 and April 2028 figures, not the first month’s, and add the £29 upfront.
- The data allowance. The lead plans are 10GB. If your recent bills show you use more, a bigger allowance on the same handset costs a little more a month; if they show far less, you are paying for data you do not use. If you have a bill to hand, upload it to Wisemium and it will read the allowance and the price for you.
- Upfront against monthly. The same phone is offered with a larger upfront payment and a lower monthly. Over 24 months the totals are close, so choose the shape that suits your cash rather than the smallest number on the page.
- Affordability and the credit check. A 24-month contract is a credit agreement, so expect a credit check, and the monthly amount should sit comfortably in your budget after both rises.
- Coverage. Check 4G and 5G coverage at home and at work on the network’s own coverage checker before you order.
- Cancellation rights. A contract bought online normally carries a 14-day cancellation period under UK distance-selling rules; the seller’s delivery and returns page states its own terms.
- Keeping your number. Moving from another network? Text PAC to 65075 for your code and give it to your new provider; the switch is free.
- Everything in one place. With Wisemium, the contract sits alongside your other household commitments, so the end date and both price changes are on record rather than in an inbox.
